Fish aftertaste is a common problem with cod liver oil. If you are struggling with reflux and the aftertaste of fish, we recommend you try Möller’s Omega-3 capsules without a fish aftertaste. The capsules can withstand gastric acid and do not dissolve until they pass into the large intestine. This guarantees that you will not be bothered by reflux and fish aftertaste. The product has an extra-high content of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA and provides you with 1 gram of omega-3 per two capsules.

Möller’s fish oil capsules contain pure oil from fish muscle. The liquid cod liver oil is pure fat from cod liver. Fish allergy is a reaction to a protein (allergen) in fish muscle. Today’s analytical methods have not been able to detect residues of protein in our fish oil/cod liver oil and we consider it unlikely that the product will trigger an allergic reaction. If you are hyper-allergic to fish, talk to, and possibly try the product with, your doctor.

For this particular group, it is especially important to supplement with omega-3 fatty acids and the vitamin D found in the cod liver oil and other Möller’s products. The health authorities In Norway recommend cod liver oil to pregnant women to ensure an adequate supply of vitamin D and omega-3. Vitamin D is required for the absorption of calcium, which ensures optimal development of the skeleton of the foetus. Möller’s Cod Liver Oil is also rich in the omega-3 fatty acid DHA, which is important for developing brain and vision functions.
There is no rule to take Möller’s along with food, as preference varies from person to person.. Many people think it is best to take the products with lunch or dinner rather than on an empty stomach.

The main difference between liquid cod liver oil and omega-3 capsules is that while cod liver oil is made from cod liver, the oil used in most omega-3 capsules is made by pressing oil from whole fish, such as anchovies and sardines. Another difference is that vitamin A and D occur naturally in cod liver oil, while they must be added to the oil from small fish. The active substances, the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, are found in both the liquid cod liver oil and the capsules – and that is the most important. What’s best depends more on the quality of the cod liver oil/capsules.
You should always follow the recommended daily dose stated on the product unless otherwise agreed with your doctor. You should be especially careful not to get too much of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D and E. If you take more than the recommended dose on rare occasions, it will usually be completely harmless. Any adverse effects of overdose will only occur after repeated long-term overdose.
